BMJP Type Rotary Extractor
Application Area and Operational Characteristics:
The BMJP type horizontal rotary extractor (with fixed bottom grid) is an improved continuous operation apparatus widely used both in China and abroad. For fat extraction from meal (in case of soybean processing with direct extraction - from flakes), this extractor uses hexane or light gasoline.
It has a compact structure, low energy consumption, features stable operation, easy maintenance, safety and reliability in operation. Provides good results in oil extraction from sunflower, rapeseed, soybeans, cottonseed, peanuts and other oil-bearing crops and is the main equipment for small vegetable oil production plants.
Main application - in extraction lines up to 200 tons/day by meal. Of course, we supply rotary extractors of higher capacity, however for extraction lines from 200 tons, the manufacturer also recommends using frame chain extractors (created using Chinese patent based on German technology).
Due to large size and complex construction, the rotary extractor is manufactured at the factory in parts, and then assembled and tested at the installation site. Main technical parameters are given in the table (using BMJP II 520 extractor as an example):
| Capacity, tons/day | Cylindrical housing diameter, mm | Cylindrical housing height, mm | Rotation speed, rpm | Number of chambers |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 150 | 5200 | 2510 | 110 | 18 |
| Number of spray devices | Electric power, kW | Cycloidal reducer model | Weight, tons | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 11 | 3 | BLEY3318-87×59-3 | 23 | |
Design Features
Simplified: the BMJP type rotary extractor with fixed grid consists of a cycloidal reducer, rotating cylindrical housing, spray device, main shaft, gearbox housing, top cover, base, etc.
The rotating cylindrical housing is the main part of the extractor. This is a hollow drum, similar to a large ring, inside which 18 chambers are placed. The extractor has a fixed bottom grid that continuously discharges products, unlike a flexible bottom grid that discharges products intermittently. This design increases the efficiency and productivity of self-cleaning. The main shaft is attached to the upper and lower parts of the housing through bearings. The rotation of the main shaft is driven by a cycloidal reducer (see animated image). The use of a cycloidal reducer significantly reduces energy consumption and ensures smooth and reliable operation of the extractor.
The top cover has holes for material supply, solvent, miscella, free gas release, installation of inspection glass, inspection light, temperature sensors, pressure sensors, etc.
The main equipment of the extractor feeding system includes: buffer chamber and rotary feeder, which ensure sealing of solvent vapors and evenly distribute wet meal among the chambers. The hexane level inside the chambers is different, which leads to a miscella concentration gradient.
Fresh hexane is fed into the extractor through a pump and a spray pipe equipped with many small holes. The irrigation rate decreases towards the center, ensuring sufficient and uniform impregnation of the material to minimize oil residues in the meal. Soybean flake extraction is based on the use of a siphon spray device for fresh hexane supply.
