Multi-chamber Cooking Kettle ZSL Series (5,6,7 chambers)
Purpose
ZSL cooking kettles are one of the main machines included in vegetable oil production equipment.
This equipment is designed for moisture-thermal treatment of meal (cooking) to facilitate oil separation (reducing molecular interaction forces between oil and solid meal particles).
Meal cooking is carried out as follows: meal is moistened and heated, then steamed to bring temperature and humidity to required values, then moistened meal is dried to bring its temperature and humidity to effective pressing values.
As a result, optimal conditions for oil pressing are achieved:
- Reduction of oil viscosity to improve its flow;
- Inactivation of the meal enzyme system;
- Sufficient plasticity of the pulp for cake shell briquetting.
Construction
This apparatus consists of a loading device, the steam kettle itself, steam pipe system, water-condensation piping, steam kettle screen, unloading device, overflow valves, steam outlet piping, inspection hole, and transmission system.
The transmission features compact structure, high gearbox efficiency, stable operation and low noise.

The internal diameter of the cooking kettle depending on the model (see table) is 1500, 1800, 2100, 2400, 2500, 2800, 3000 or 3600mm. Each chamber of the cooking kettle is equipped with scrapers for uniform mixing of meal, driven from the main shaft connected to the reducer.
The live steam injection device is located under the scrapers and rotates with them, ensuring uniform steam humidification of the meal. The steam kettle is equipped with a device for removing excess moisture formed in the meal during steam humidification.
Each chamber has its own overflow valve for meal feed control, internal material level sensor, external material layer height indicator.
The unloading device is located in the bottom of the lower chamber.
Heating System Description (see diagram)
The working organs of the cooking kettle are both the side walls of each chamber and their bottoms.
Explanation of the diagram: steam from the boiler is supplied to head 6, from it to the steam distribution pipe 7 and steam inlet pipes 12. Steam enters simultaneously both into the steam jacket and to the bottom of each chamber for heating, and also through 12 direct steam enters directly into the cooking kettle to equalize meal humidity.
Intermediate steam withdrawal from side walls is carried out through 10, and from the bottom - through 9. Finally, steam is discharged through steam outlet 13.
